EA Play Coming To Xbox Game Pass
On 10th November, games from EA Play (previously known as Origin from Electronic Arts) will be available in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the console and in December for Game Pass PC, at no extra cost, apparently. With over 70 games included in this exciting new deal, including Battlefield V, five Need For Speed titles, Mirror’s Edge, and many others, this is a great deal. Game Pass already offers over 100 games to choose from, so instead of paying out loads of money for AAA games, this pay as you play deal (games as a service) is most definitely worth considering.
I joined up in August for $1* so that I could play Microsoft Flight Simulator without having to pay $60 and have since played Rage 2, Deliver Us The Moon, and one or two other games.
*That special offer is $1 for the first month and $7.99 per month thereafter.
Bethesda Games Coming Soon
Not only will Game Pass subscribers have access to EA Play, but following Microsoft’s purchase of Zenimax/Bethesda, look out for Bethesda’s game catalogue to be added to Game Pass, including The Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, and DOOM. Again, it’s not clear when this will happen, or which games will be included. Having said that, with a projected library of over 200 games to choose from and paying no more than $7.99 (PC) a month, I for one am very happy with this deal, especially with new games being added almost every week.
As I’ve mentioned in other posts, Game Pass is a great way to budget your gaming costs. For example, Rage 2 is around $50-$70, Microsoft Flight Simulator $60 and upwards and Battlefield V is around $40, according to CheapShark. The only drawback is that you don’t actually own the games, however, with Game Pass you can buy the games at a small discount so that you own them forever.
