***DCT Exclusive***
Ashampoo has just released (on October 24th) the latest version of its excellent “Snap” screen capture software, and guess what? Yep, DCT has 10 free licenses to give away to 10 lucky subscribers… thank you Ashampoo!!
Ashampoo Snap 6 is a complete screen capture tool, including all the capture modes, editing and annotation features you’ll ever need. And now, courtesy of Ashampoo, you have a chance to win this great software for free. Simply submit a reply to this article with a comment… comments can by anything but we’d prefer if you commented on the Ashampoo Snap software… Competition ends 4th November
*If your comment doesn’t appear immediately it’s because first comments must be moderated… it will appear shortly!
If you’re looking for professional screen capture software, Ashampoo Snap 6 is definitely for you. With an abundance of features and options to meet even the most discerning of users’ requirements, Ashampoo Snap 6 is… “The only screen capture software you’ll ever need!”
Download is 28.75MB and, as one would expect, installation is 100% clean. However, if you don’t wish to install the Ashampoo Toolbar or allow changes to your home page and search engine, I suggest you utilize the ‘Custom’ install option which then enables deselection of any unwanted items. Otherwise, just go ahead with the Express installation:
Ashampoo Snap 6 places a ‘Capture’ bar at the top of screen by default. Screen position can be altered to suit and the Capture bar can also be disabled altogether. However, when not in use, the Capture bar does not intrude on screen space and only drops down when moused over:
From left to right: Capture – video, scrolling window, website, menu, timed capture, single window, rectangle region, freestyle region, fixed region. Simply click on the desired capture method, left click to initiate screen capture, right click to cancel. It’s a very easy system to use. An options menu is also available by right clicking on Ashampoo Snap’s system tray icon:
Output formats include the usual png, bmp, and jpg, as well as PDF and Ashampoo’s own proprietary ‘snapdoc’ format:
Once the capture has been completed, the screenshot will instantly open in Ashampoo Snap’s brilliant editor:
The left hand bar provides all your annotation options, including adding text, arrows, highlight, shapes, a great range of stamps, and more. The top bar includes more useful editing options such as add watermarks, add date and time stamp, add a border, resize, and a nice variety of effects. The right bar provides all your sharing/copying/save options.
Screen capture software can often be quite difficult to understand and use, not so with Ashampoo Snap… and Ashampoo makes it even easier by providing step by step tool-tips throughout the entire process. This is a great help for all users, but especially for those who are not familiar with professional screen capture software. Once the user becomes conversant with the procedure, these tool-tip popups can then easily be disabled.
Ashampoo Snap 6… the name says it all… it really is a snap!

Hi,
I am expecting a lot from this new version. I use regularly V4, especially to capture web pages that span over several screens. I also use annotation tools to document the captures.
Count me in please, and thanks for this opportunity.
Uzywam w tej chwili 4 i jestem zadowolony a 6 to rewelacja.Poproszę .
Hi, I like(d) Ashampoo Snap 3, the later versions 4 and 5 did not add much to that, apart from contineously writing themselves to the start-up menu, but I have Scotty on patrol, so no problem. Please count me in for this version, I am looking forward to try out, perhaps the scrolling feature finally works as it should. For all the glitches, it is potentially great software.
Thanks a lot Jim
I’ve used several screen capture programs and like Snap the best of them all. Once I configured it to me my needs, I find it very easy to use. I especially appreciate having the ability to capture video and have used it to create tutorials in my work.
i would love to win a license. Please count me in.
I already own two Ashampoo products and am very pleased with them.
I am in the medical field and do a great deal of on-line and library research.
It appears this product could help simplify my work in collecting data.
My field of medicine is preventive medicine so sources tend to be wide spread
and difficult to find at times. This program could save me a great deal of time.
Thank you for this opportunity.
