Best Amazon Fake Customer Review Checkers

Two free tools to check whether customer reviews on Amazon are legitimate.

I believe that most online shoppers would read customer product reviews as part of their decision-making process, I know I do. These two AI-powered tools will filter out fake reviews and present a much clearer picture of customer feedback. Both are available as extensions for all browsers and mobile apps. Both also provide a web-based analyzer and this is the method we’ll be looking at in this article.

Fakespot Analyzer

Visit Fakespot Analyzer and copy and paste the product’s URL into the analyzer bar. When the analysis is completed you’ll be presented with a rating from A through to F indicating the percentage of fake reviews – A being the best possible rating indicating a very low number of fake reviews, through to F being the worst possible rating indicating a very high number of fake reviews.

Fakespot also highlights the most consistent favorable comments (Pros) and the most consistent negative comments (Cons) to provide prospective buyers with a more accurate overview.

Fakespot Analyzer (web-based) supports Amazon, Walmart, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Steam, Sephora, and BestBuy. The browser extension supports Amazon, BestBuy, eBay, Sephora, Shopify, and Walmart.

ReviewMeta

Visit ReviewMeta and copy and paste the product’s URL into the analyzer bar. When the analysis has been completed, you’ll be presented with the results. ReviewMeta works a little differently than Fakespot – rather than providing a review rating, once it’s filtered out suspect reviews, ReviewMeta adjusts the overall rating accordingly:

ReviewMeta also provides a more granular overview than Fakespot with additional analysis results including stats for the most trusted reviews and least trusted reviews, suspicious reviewers, phrase repetition, unverified purchases, overlapping review history, and incentivized reviews.

ReviewMeta also provides free browser extensions and mobile apps but appears to support Amazon only:

BOTTOM LINE

You simply cannot be overly cautious when purchasing products online and tools such as these fake review analyzers can definitely assist in gaining an overall impression. Fakespot supports more online shopping options but, although ReviewMeta is limited to Amazon only, it provides more details. I would suggest bookmarking both.

Stay safe out there!
