My brother and I use an app called Marco Polo to send video messages to each other. Since using this, I have written a few how-to articles on it. If you have missed any of those you can check them out here:
This week I decided to tell you how you can stop your Marco Polo videos from being downloaded or shared by others. The reason for this is maybe a person you sent a video to is not a friend and you are worried they could be saving your messages. For whatever reason, it is always a good idea to make sure the video messages you send are secure. I guess it is time to pull out those mobile devices and get this article started.
How To Restrict Marco Polo Videos
I will be showing you this on my Motorola Edge Android phone using the app. In these steps, I will go over how to stop others from downloading and sharing your videos from everyone to only a select few.
Step 1: Find the app and tap it to open.
Step 2: Once the app is open, look down to the bottom right. Tap the Settings gear icon.
Step 3: On the Settings screen you will want to find the option, Privacy. Tap it.
Step 4: Here you will see a section named, “Restrict People from Downloading or Forwarding Polos I’ve Sent Them.” Under this, you have two options to work with:
- Restrict everyone
- Restrict specific people
Tap the switch to the right and that will turn this on. The top one is straightforward so tapping that will affect everyone. Let’s tap the switch next to specific people.
Step 5: This will bring up all the people you are connected with on this app. Tap the circle to the left of the name you want to restrict. Or you can use the Search line to find a specific person. After you have selected them, tap the confirm link at the top right. DONE.
That is how easy it is to stop people from taking your videos off Marco Polo or sharing them. Time to share your new knowledge with all your Marco Polo contacts.

How does this differ or is an improvement from just making a video and sending it as an attachment through email?
Thanks,
