Some of you may know I really love gaming, from NES to the PS5. Gaming has always been a passion of mine and that gave me an idea for a new How-to article. I have been hunting for the PS5 ever since it came out in 2020. I never had much luck finding it, but I recently got it for the retail price and not the scammers’ price. Having this console for a while, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the new knowledge I have from using it. In this article, I want to show you how you can manage the PS5 notifications; but before we do, check out a few other articles I have written on other consoles:
- How To Set Up User Passcode For PS4 Profile
- How To Set Date And Time On PS4
- How To Turn On PS4 Voice Commands
- How to Change Your PS4 Theme
- Connect NES Console To Monitor/Smart TV
Now that you know about those, let us start this lesson.
How To Manage PS5 Notifications
Obviously, this will be shown on the PS5 console.
Step 1: Turn on your PS5 and sign into your account. Once you are on the home screen, look to the top right. There you should see the Settings icon. Select it.
Step 2: On the Settings screen, scroll down until you find Notifications. Select it.
Step 3: Here is where all the magic happens. There are three options at the top that I want to go over first:
- Allow Pop-Up Notifications
- Show Preview (gives you a small preview of what the notification is about)
- Play Sound (if you want an audio sound to go off when the notification does)
To turn these on or off, look to the far right of each one. They have an on-and-off switch; select the one you want to adjust. Let us move on to the other options we have.
Step 4: For this part, let’s select When Friends Go Online.
You will see a menu appear where you have some options:
- Show Pop-Ups
- During Games
- During Videos
- During Broadcast
Choose the one you want to have on. If you turn off the top one, “Show Pop-Ups”, then the rest of the list is no longer available.
Step 5: If you look under the last option, “When Friends Go Online”, you will see “Friends That Notify You”. Select it and I will show you how this works.
Step 6: Here you will have a list of your friends and a switch to the right of their gamer name. Select it to turn this notification on or off.
Get notifications when your friends go online. You can turn on notifications separately for each friend.
If you have a long list of friends use the search bar at the top.
Step 7: Time to look at some of the other options on this screen. To the right of all the notifications, you will see what they are set to:
- Hide during videos
- Broadcast
- Hide during games
Let’s select one to adjust for this article.
Step 8: After selecting one, you will see a menu appear as we did in Step 4:
- Show Pop-Ups
- During Games
- During Videos
- During Broadcast
This menu is the same for all of these. Choose what you want and you are all done.
That is all you have to do to manage those PS5 notifications on your console – time to share this new knowledge with your gaming friends.
