I know, it’s worrisome enough to get the darn chart embedded in your Word document. Trust me, I really do know. As I have said before, math is not my friend, and I am very careful the entire time I am working with math or Excel!
So you have your Excel chart carefully placed in your Word document and you have saved it. But now, you decide that you would like to make some changes. I get nervous just thinking about it! But I don’t want you to get nervous too!
Follow the steps below to learn how:
- Select your chart.
- Go to Chart Design or Chart Tools Design | Data | Edit Data and select one of the following:
- Choose Edit Data to edit your chart in Word
- Choose Edit Data in Excel
You may also modify your chart in Word using any of the four buttons that appear when you select the chart:
- Layout Options Choose how your object interacts with the text around it
- Chart Elements Add, remove, or change chart elements such as the title, legend, gridlines, and data labels
- Chart Styles Set a style and color scheme for your chart
- Chart Filters Edit what data points and names are visible in your chart
Select any of the above buttons to view your available options.
