In my last article, How to Boost Facebook Page Posts, I touched on the subject of Ad audiences. You can check out that article here: How To Boost Facebook Page Posts
If you are the Admin or Owner of a Facebook page, then this is important to know if you are boosting or promoting your page. With any Fan/Business page you need to be able to get your content in front of people. These are people who would be interested in what you are selling or doing. When you run ads/boosts you have to choose your target audience. In this article, I wanted to show you how you can create different audiences for you to use when Boosting/Advertising your page on Facebook. Let the business training begin.
How To Create Facebook Ad Audience
Now the only way you can do this is to be an ADMIN or OWNER of the page. We will be showing you how on facebook.com using my Windows laptop.
Step 1: Head over to Facebook and log in to your account.
Step 2: Once logged in, head to one of your Facebook pages. It doesn’t matter which page you use because the Audience will be attached to all of your pages.
Step 3: Now that you are on a page, look to the left menu. Here you will see Ad Center. You can also click the down arrow next to it and click Audiences but for this article, we will click on Ad Center.
Step 4: This will take you to the Ad Center page. Time to look to the right-side menu. Here you will need to click Audiences.
Step 5: On the Audiences screen, look to the top right. There will be a Create Audience button. Click it.
Side Note: You can edit the Audiences you already have set up by clicking the Edit Audience below it.
Step 6: Here is where you can start creating your new Audience. The first three options are:
- Name
- Gender
- Age
Name the audience something that makes sense to your targeting. Gender and age are self-explanatory.
Step 7: Now to pick your Location where your AD will be seen. Pick a city, state, or even a country by click on the search box and typing. Once you have chosen, it will appear under Locations with a green check next to it.
Step 8: The last step has to do with Detailed Targeting:
- Demographics (Parents, Work, Education)
- Interests (Gaming, Football, Shopping)
- Behavior (Mobile Device Users, Travel)
You can even Exclude some of these if you want by clicking on the Exclude button. I usually don’t use that option but it could help you target people better. After choosing, you will see at the bottom an estimate of the size of the Audience. If you are happy with all you have done, then click the SAVE button on the bottom right. DONE.
Now you have created your new Targeted audience for promoting your posts. Make sure to check out the other article on How To Boost Facebook Page Posts. That way you can test out using your new Audience. Time to go share this new knowledge you have acquired.
