How To Change Or Turn Off iPad Sounds

As you all know, I am trying to go forward and learn how to use my Apple gifts, namely my iPad and my Apple Watch. It is slow going, but I am slogging along and being surprised I must say about how much easier it is than I had originally thought it would be!

It may sound like such a simple thing, but I really did not know how to change or turn off sounds. Since I wanted to use an iPad so that I could watch video tutorials while I sewed, I figured that this would be a good place to start learning!

Follow the steps below and learn along with me:

To Change or Turn off  Sounds:

  1. In Settings, change or turn off the sounds,  iPad will play when you get a call, text message, email, reminder, or any other sort of notification
  2. To temporarily silence incoming calls, alerts, and sound effects, turn on Do Not Disturb
  3. Set sound options
  4. Set options for alert tones and ringtones, and ringer and alert volumes
  5. Go to Settings | Sounds
  6. Drag the slider to set your volume for ringer and alerts
  7. Tap Ringtone and other options to select sounds for the ringtone and alert tones
  8. You can also change the sounds the iPad plays according to certain people
  9. Simply go to Contacts, tap the  person’s name, tap Edit, then choose a ringtone and text tone
  10. Silence iPad
  11. To temporarily silence incoming calls, alerts, and sound effects, open Control Center, tap Focus, and tap Do Not Disturb
