Get Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (Beta) FREE

When Malwarebytes first released Anti-Exploit it was as a free standalone program and then, quite some time ago, Anti-Exploit was merged with Malwarebytes’ main product, Malwarebytes Antimalware, as part of its Premium package. However, did you know that you can still get Malwarebytes Anti-exploit (MBAE) beta version for free? You can get MBAE beta free directly from Malwarebytes but you’ll need to jump through some hoops. A better alternative is to download from MajorGeeks — zero complications, just download and install.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit protects from zero-day exploits targeting browser and application vulnerabilities. Its proprietary technology shields your browser and applications during the critical period between the release of a new exploit and its subsequent security patch — easy to install and lightweight.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Key Features:

  • Protects most browsers including; Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera browsers and derivatives thereof
  • Protects browser components including; Java, Adobe Reader, Flash, and Shockwave
  • Defends against drive-by download attacks
  • Shields vulnerable applications including; Microsoft Office, Libre Office, Foxit Reader Adobe Reader, QuickTime Player, Windows Media Player, and VLC Player
  • Blocks unknown and common exploit kits, including Blackhole, Sakura, Phoenix, and Incognito
  • Is compatible with most common anti-malware and antivirus products
  • Doesn’t use a signature database—no need for constant updating

Don’t be concerned about the “Buy Now” and “Activate” buttons at the bottom of the interface, as long as it is the beta version, the software is active and protecting — click the About tab across the top of the window and you’ll see license details:

Check That Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Is Working Properly

If you’d like to check further, you can download a test file from How To Verify That MBAE IS Working Correctly:

Extract the contents and run the extracted executable. You’ll be presented with two buttons: Normal, and Exploit:

Clicking the Normal button should open the calculator with the message “There’s no history yet“. Now click the Exploit button and, if the software is working properly, you’ll receive the following message:

Plus, of course, you’ll see a relative increase in the number of “Blocked exploit attempts”.

  • Download Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit beta from MajorGeeks

*Bear in mind that the free version will always be a beta version and, as such, susceptible to potential bugs.

BOTTOM LINE:

Did you know that the browser is the most vulnerable piece of software you will run? That’s mostly not the browser’s fault, if you get my drift. It’s a fact that the vast majority of malware infections occur while browsing the web or visiting websites. While many users seem to be more interested in privacy-related extensions these days, I have always valued security over privacy and always shall. Just about every security program is designed to protect when online and beefing up browser security is, in my opinion, a no-brainer.

  1. Happy New Year, Jim!

Am in complete agreement with your recommendation; MWBAE has been part of the antimalware armamentarium that I have put on every Windows box under my wing since some bugs were finally ironed-out about six years ago or so (unless MWB Premium is installed, that is).

Stay well & safe, Good Sir!

    Cheers,

    AJN

Hi, I cannot use Malwarebytes as it clashes with KAPERSKY, and I wonder I can use Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (Beta) FREE or will that clash with Kapersky also

    1. Hello Michael.

MBAE should not cause any conflicts with Kasperksy. I can’t say 100% for certain but, seeing how they provide very different types of security, I’d be very surprised if they clashed.

MBAM, on the other hand, provides very similar security to that of Kaspersky.

    2. Hi Michael. Previously, both Malwarebyes and Kaspersky worked well together. Then, due to a clash, I was forced to remove Malwarebytes. Prefer KIS for all the additional extras it offers, and it does not clash with my other programs. But, I loved Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, in the past and this beta version works problem (clash) free. Thank you, Jim, for the mention, Mindblower!
