In 1983, NASA Astronaut Guion S. Bluford Jr. became the first African American to go into space.
Bluford’s first mission was as a Mission Specialist on STS-8. This was the first mission with a night launch and night landing. Bluford flew on four Shuttle missions before leaving NASA in 1993. Bluford logged over 688 hours in space.

In 1992 , Microsoft released version 3.0 of Microsoft Office.
Its main components included Word 2.0c, Excel 4.0a, PowerPoint 3.0, and Mail. It was later repackaged with the name “Office 92”.

In 1995, Microsoft released version 7.0 of Microsoft Office as “Microsoft Office 95.”
It consisted of Word 7.0, Excel 5.0, PowerPoint 4.0, and Mail 3.2. The suite coincided with the release of Windows 95 and it was the first 32-bit version of the suite. This suite was available in Standard and Professional versions. The Professional version included Access in addition to the suite’s other applications.
