Hello,
After reading the newest newsletter I went to the Threatfire website and downloaded the free version. I had an immediate and very noticeable slowdown of my system. After uninstalling I still get notices that Threatfire is trying to access the internet.
Any thoughts?

Hey CT - Sorry to hear that. I find it inexplicable, I have run Threatfire on older computers, with just 512mb RAM, together with full security suites and had no problems at all. Which method of uninstall did you use...did you run the program's own built-in uninstaller?

cheers....JIM

An after thought CT - Threatfire automatically connects to the web in order to download updates, which it does regularly....the updates are mainly for the signature based scanner which is built in. There would be a fairly lengthy updating process almost immediately after install....maybe?? I don't know...I'm just trying to get my head around why a program I have run, without issues, for many years on 3 different computers would cause such problems.

cheers .....JIM

I used the installer that is packaged with the program. I also scanned the file with AVG, Spybot, and Malware. Nothing was found.I will try it again.
Still, it's somewhat confusing that after the uninstall I still get notices that it wants to access the internet.
I will give it a go here in a few and let the machine "cook' overnight.
Thanks.

Hmmmm. I looked in the Program Files folder and Threatfire was still there. Maybe in my advanced age I just thought that I had uninstalled........
Anywho, all seems to be working AOK now.
