Hello,
Text links (not all) and other links do not show the "hand" cursor indicating a link.
IE8 works great.
Ran MBAM et al.
Use CCleaner regularly.
Uninstalled FF8 and downloaded a clean copy from Mozilla for installation to no avail.

Thanks

Hey Terry - Sounds like a corrupt FF user profile. Uninstalling does not remove the profile and when re-installation takes place it will simply re-use the old profile.

Only other culprit could be an incompatible add-on. Try running FF with zero add-ons first - click on [b:3fp5i77i]Help[/b:3fp5i77i] and select "Re-start with Add-ons Disabled". If that doesn't make any difference you can try setting up a new profile. This will take FF back to scratch, just like a fresh install except you do not need to actually download and install FF all over again. You will however need to download and install add-ons and themes again. This does not replace the old profile, after creating a new profile both will be available and you can select either from within the FF profile manager.

To open the FF profile manager, close all instances of FF, go to [b:3fp5i77i]Start>Run[/b:3fp5i77i] and copy and paste the following into the Run dialogue box: [b:3fp5i77i]firefox.exe -p[/b:3fp5i77i]
Then click[b:3fp5i77i] OK[/b:3fp5i77i].

Click on the [b:3fp5i77i]Create Profile[/b:3fp5i77i] button and give it a suitable name. Make sure the new profile is highlighted as default and click [b:3fp5i77i]Start Firefox[/b:3fp5i77i].

If FF now behaves correctly, download and install all your add-ons/themes and you are in business.

Oz,
Sorry, I must be losing my mind. This problem only happens with one website. http://www.mobowhunters.org
Thanks.

Hey Terry - Just went to that site myself (using FF8), tried all the links included on the Home Page - no problemo!!

Have no idea why only that site would be affected. I assume you are accessing the site from a link saved to your Bookmarks? Try accessing the site from search results and see if that makes any difference?

Cheers...Jim

Okay Terry, just delete the old bookmark and create a new one.

You want an active link in your siggy?

Requires that you copy and paste the URL from the address bar in your browser:
If you wish to display the actual address (without any identifying text) - simply copy the URL from the address bar of your browser and paste it verbatim, without any additional code.

If you wish to display hyperlinked text:
Here is the formula COPY AND PASTE URL HERE[/i:29107oep]][i:29107oep]TYPE THE TEXT YOU WANT DISPLAYED HERE[/i:29107oep]

Example - If you wanted to post a link to Daves Computer Tips:

COPY AND PASTE THE DCT URL HERE[/i:29107oep]]Daves Computer Tips - that will display "Daves Computer Tips" as an active link.

Just like this -----> [url=http://www.davescomputertips.com/forum/:29107oep]Daves Computer Tips[/url:29107oep]

No idea Terry. I've copied and pasted the code from your siggy directly into this reply and, as you can see, it has worked fine-----> [url=http://www.zone5pix.com:3ev05plu]My Photography[/url:3ev05plu]
Not sure what's gone wrong nor why it isn't displaying properly in your siggy. Going to refer it to Dave for further evaluation.

Cheers...Jim

OK, the problem is Terry had the "disable BBcode" option checked in his profile. BBcode is html like code that is used here, and on other forums and blogs, to allow users html functionality without allowing them to expose the forum to attack/corruption through hacks.

I enabled the code and the link works perfectly.

Now, the big question is... Did Terry view my humble attempt at photography in the Lions and Tigers thread?
