Hey Soldat - I've been keeping up with this thread even though not actually replying....been leaving that to wiser heads!

It's always best policy to backup any settings prior to new install but Office should retain all previous data.

Not sure how Office 2003 will react when it identifies the existing files on your computer....i.e. what options it will give you. It may not even give you the option for a total install while files are already present. You may have to do it in two steps; i.e:
Step 1: Install all components which were not selected during original installation - Office will recognise those features which are already installed and give you the option to select and install all missing components.
Step 2: Re-insert disc and select the option for a 'Repair' install.

Carol (or someone) may have more definitive advice. In the meantime, can you please let us know what options you do actually get after loading the Office 2003 disc with the original installation intact?

Cheers mate.....JIM

Going to put this major re-install on hold for a time --- I have been blessed or cursed (depends on how you look at it) with a new copy of Win 7. Am hoping this will solve all current problems.

Update on this issue ----- problem solved when upgraded to Win 7 and using Outlook 2007. The import of a sports calendar and subsequent transmission of that calendar to my Blackberry went off without a hitch. Why I could not get the download to work with Vista and Outlook 2003 is a question for the ages, but thankfully that problem is behind me now. Appreciate all of your responses to my post. Thanks.

Win 7 is another learning experience. I like the speed it offers and it doesn't seem to have the built in problems Vista had. I am still learning what to do and how best to use it, but so far it has been a pleasant learning experience.
