Hi All!
Just got a new computer. Upgraded it to win7pro.
It came with a Disk that says M3A78-CM.
Should I load it or is it already there and just a boot disk for the motherboard?
Thank you!

Oh! I'm sorry. I'm not "that" Dave. I am just another Dave with a question.

Is that the model of your motherboard? If so, then that would be a disk with all the device drivers for your onboard devices. If everything loaded into Windows correctly, then I would keep the disk, but not bother loading it.

If you have any Unknown devices in Device Manager (that's still in 7, right?) this disk would be useful.

ASUS makes an inexpensive AMD mobo with that number. If that's what you have, then the disk probably contains the drivers and setup files for the mobo. Did the supplier ship a Win 7 recovery disk with your machine? Better yet, did they give you an actual install disk? If the answer is no, I suggest you make your own Recovery disk.

Not all Win 7 installations have the option to create such a disk. The easiest way to find out if a Windows 7 edition supports creating a recovery disc is by pressing [Windows R], entering [recdisc.exe] in the form and hitting the Enter key. This will open the Create a system repair disc window prompting to enter a blank disc into the computer

I agree fellers. Windows 7 upgrade discs for new computers do come with a secondary CD which contains all the manufacturer's drivers.

Only strange thing is they are generally labeled accordingly. Mine clearly says 'Support CD - Driver & Utility'.....and it is an Asus too.

Cheers.....JIM
