Great news Terry. I missed telling you about the 'ipconfig /flushdns' command...darn it!! Never mind, the 'Boss' sorted it out. 🙂

Would be interested to see if you now get a positive result though the OpenDNS servers too.

Cheers...Jim

Excellent!! Thanks for letting me know Terry. Being well aware of Google's predilection for collecting information I think I'd tend to trust OpenDNS over the Google service - but hey, horses for courses.

Cheers mate...Jim

After reading these posts I decided to check things out. I was currently using Google's DNS service and had previously used the OpenDNS service. Somehow I stumbled onto a new one that is supposed to block dangerous sites - nortondns at https://dns.norton.com/dnsweb/faq.do
I'd like to know what you think about it.
Thanks

Haven't tried that one myself Steve but it sounds fine. I like that there are three available DNS settings offering different levels of filtering. The same effect can be achieved through OpenDNS but it requires user configuration, the Norton system is much easier.

Provided you are satisfied with the speed, I'd say no problemo!

Cheers...Jim

Blangell,
Good call! Never crossed my mind at all, but I'm almost positive it was a corrupt DNS cache, or slow DNS server in this case. Why? Well if you look at the screen shot he supplied The upper portion isn't displaying correctly but the forum below is displayed correctly. The forum actually resides "inside" of a Wordpress page, so I can see that the main css file isn't loading and the forum, which uses its own css style, is.

Either way, that was definitely a good call and you've earned 2 gold stars!

Have you read through the thread and changed your DNS (either on your router or PC) to 8.8.8.8.?
