burning software advice for windows 7

hi all, i have recently upgraded to windows 7, when using vista i used ashampoo 6 which i thought was really quite good, however since installing 7, i installed it again and now my dvd's are taking something like 2 hours lol, yes 2 hours.. any advice would be great , i think i have a 8 speed dvd burner and using 16 x dvd's to which ive never had a problem using before.

Hey Dodester - Don't think the problem is with your hardware nor blank media mate.....more than likely, as you suspect, a software issue.

You can get Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 for free at the moment. It doesn't say it supports Windows7...only XP and Vista but might be worth trying it out, especially as it is zero cost. I've found that a lot of software for Vista also works well on Windows 7.

hey guys, still no luck, i tried loadsa ones and also trying ashampoo 9 which is still taking 1 hours and 6 minutes to burn a 700 MB video. any other suggestions ?

when i had the vista it would take around 9 minutes for that...

well me being dumb really, i was burning a video file which format was ntsdt yep a know ive never heard of it neither, it was a full package of in the night garden for my little girl, i got a peep show episode ( xvid) format and yeah burned in around 6 minutes and played on dvd player.

so yeah my fault for not testing another video file

sorted now

I wouldn't be too embarrassed, I've never heard of that format (ntsdt)....man, that must be a really obscure one!!!

Which burning software did you end up keeping?

i ended up using ashampoo V9, really fast for the job and a good friendly user face.
