Hello friends,

After upgrading Windows 10, just going to install Google Chrome, an error is coming. So normally I have downloaded it from here, and when I am going to install it, I am getting a message "Installation failed. The Google Chrome installer failed to Start".

Not getting any idea how to solve it, just started googling and found this post. Any idea guys if this method might be helpful in anyway? Thank you

Hi Fowler2,

You upgraded Windows 10 from what to what? From an earlier version of Windows 10 to a more recent version or from an older OS (say Windows 7) to Windows 10?

Has Google Chrome been installed on your system previously or is this very first time you've tried to install it?

Enter the keyboard shortcut Windows key +E to open Windows Explorer.
In the Windows Explorer window that appears, enter the following in the address
Locate the folder called "Default" in the directory window that opens, and rename it as "Backup default." Tutuapp 9Apps Showbox
Try running this offline file here.
2. In case you're using an antivirus or firewall software, ensure Chrome or ChromeSetup.exe (or this full setup file ChromeStandaloneSetup64.exe) is trusted or permitted by these programs.
You can also try temporarily disabling your antivirus or firewall to check whether this determines the issue. Once done, try running Google Chrome alternate installer here. If the error persists, head to the Step 3 below.
3. Just to make sure you eliminate malware from the scenario, please follow the steps from this help article. If the security app finds & deletes something from your system, please learn how to protect your computer from adware, riskware even malware. (Here's how & case studies.)
In case you're still facing the same issue, please uninstall Chrome completely (Here's a video guide) and reinstall it using the aforementioned alternate installer. If nothing else works, create a new user profile, and then download and run Chrome Canary.

Best,

Try to download the offline installation file and then install it in Safe Mode, this should work.
