I have MS Office 2007 and we recently had a computer 'crash' and had to buy a new one. We were able to transfer the old computer's hard drive to the new one, however.
I had a LOT of words added to the custom dictionary and now after reinstalling MS Office 2007 on the new computer I find I am starting from scratch with the dictionary! I have searched and searched on the computer hoping to find the 'old' custom dictionary but without success. Can you tell me where the file is located?
Also, is there a way to backup this custom dictionary so I have a spare copy?
Much thanks!
Marci
Hi Marci - On my Win7 machine with Office 2010, the custom dictionary is located at C:\Users\My Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\UProof.
Here is a link to an official MS support article which covers most of your questions and describes how to locate, create and import custom dictionaries: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322198
Hope that helps mate,
Cheers... Jim
