i finally got Ethernet cord 25 ft and connected it to modem and it just connected by itself, the big problem for me is it wont connect to mint, i got Firefox gong and g mail.
but it has 160 updates waiting and i cant get them password box keeps coming up, and none knows password or user name the guy who gave me disc doesn know w and there is no way to find it, any suggestions,also any hep to connect to the mint, it kepps tying to go there but cant.. not even sure what its all about. i found terminal but dont kow ho to use thatt. fairly well lost with it cant ind a way to turn it of either, had to unplug it to do that. any hel with any of this il be grateful. execchef1959@gmail.com

Open terminal and type cat /etc/os-release at the prompt. Username and Password can be reset but it isn't easy.
