Which free site is best for me?

Hi
There are a lot of free website making sites and I have actually made two for two NGOs. But they are static sites with mostly info about the NGO.

I have made two series of e books , 1. Unusual careers and 2. about Hobbies mostly for seniors.

I want to make one site from where anyone can download these - for free, or maybe two sites for the two kinds.

Which free service is better that would allow me to store about 20 MB and give upload/ download facility ?

I have been checking Google and wordpress , but are they proper sites or blogs? I could not find how much space they allot to a site.

I am really confused . Thanks in advance for the help.

Wordpress.com would probably suffice as long as the download demand isn't too high.

If you want to monetize the offering things will get a bit more complicated and an actual hosting account will be your best bet. And, if that is the case, I would look at installing Wordpress (from wordpress.org). With a decent hosting package you could install multiple instances so you can run both (or more) of your projects from the same place for the same cost.

You'll need to ask yourself some questions:
1. In what country is your target audience?
2. How will you process payments if you intend to monetize?
3. How much are you willing to spend?

Thanks David for the prompt reply.
Re your questions:

1. In what country is your target audience?

Basically India, But I have had requests from Africa , China and South America too.

2. How will you process payments if you intend to monetize?

I do not intend to monetize

3. How much are you willing to spend?
Nothing! want the free route.

How do I find out the storage limit in wordpress.com? What I understood from the site that it is a blogging site. I do not want a blog, more like a library with download facility.

Actually all these files are already on one NGO site and are being accesses by a variety of people, but I think if I have my dedicated site they will be more accessible.

This is one site which has always helped me so I am picking your brains.

Thanks again.

Wordpress isn't a blog, per se, but more of a content management system. It would work well for what you intend - and wordpress.com has a very robust platform well suited for a global audience.

The standard storage limit for wordpress.com is 3GB.

Thanks David,
I have also been looking around and have now zeroed on Weebly.
I am already half way there, they have great support system and though have limited choices in themes, it is ok for me as I like quiet backgrounds anyway.
Thanks once again for replying asap.
You might like to check the site at http://unusualcareers.weebly.com/
though it is still a work in progress.

OK, glad you've made a decision, but I have to ask... Why the PDF downloads.
1. It would be easier to create static pages for each of those downloads.
2. It would be better for SEO (each page would have keywords in the title).
3. It would be easier to update the pages than update and reupload a PDF.
