Anyone who has read the reports or seen news video of the riots in England can only be disgusted and dismayed at the lawlessness and turmoil.

English politicians are now, in part, blaming social media sites for some of the organisational aspects and the manner in which the rioting spread so quickly. It appears sites such as Facebook and Twitter were utilised for a 'brotherly' call to arms and the powers that be are none too pleased.

Could this be the beginning of close government monitoring and much tighter controls over social sites in general? Seems likely to happen in the U.K. May already be happening in the U.S.A. (who knows what their covert government agencies get up to ). Other trouble spots in the World too?

Some might say, 'if you not doing anything wrong or illegal then you have nothing to worry about', and I do have some sympathy for that righteous if somewhat narrow outlook. The bigger picture, however, could mean even more government controls, enforced censorship and monitoring of internet activities in general.

Don't know about the rest of you guys and gals but here in Oz we are well and truly over governed already!!
