Are you terrified to use online banking or purchasing items via the internet? Do you still get snail mail (cheques) and do your banking at the bank?

Well, I recently found out there are people who are terrified to trust this technology because they heard a scary story. Yes, it is scary to use or trust the online system if one have little or no protection installed on ones computer, and/or know how and/or what to have installed. Plus there are plenty of online scams, the most frighting ones are delivered right to your email account. Click here without reading and you can experience your worst nightmare.

Is there a solution? Can these folks be helped? Is their fear genuine? These are loaded questions. After pondering on these questions for a long time, it is clear to me, some people have an honest fear of being a victim, and it might be best to let them live in fear (concern) and do things the old fashioned way.

But what is amusing (if you can find any humour), is banks use the internet. Making purchases with a debit or credit card one uses the internet (and it is safer to use credit cards than a debit card), so go figure, Mindblower!

Mindblower, I know this is an older post but it does post a good question and needs to be addressed. I have included this link for "8 critical safety tips for safer online banking" published by Emsisoft. It also includes several additional safety features. you do not have to login to the site to view this material.

When it comes to forum topics, there is no such item as an older post Jim. Thanks for the reply, but I believe you forgot to include the link, Mindblower!

I can't remember when the last time I mailed a payment through the mail. Been doing transaction online for yrs, without any problem, but still know of people who do all their transactions via mail.
