The freeware version 2.0.5 dates back to around 2010 and still works helping users to do a better job of uninstalling software. The Pro version 3.0.0 came out in 2013 and was last updated to 3.2.1 earlier this year.
Now, get ready for the extras (or much improved uninstaller).

You can find more information at https://www.revouninstaller.com/index.html and dig deeper using comparison charts on this latest much improved uninstaller. Those using the Pro version(s) should be receiving an email (if they opted to receive updates) soon if not already. There is an upgrade fee since it is to a newer version.
I for the time being, using Windows 8.1, and quite satisfied with Pro 3.2.1, see no need for features I do not use. But those using Windows 10, with its bloated assortment of apps, this might be useful if you install and uninstall frequently, Mindblower!
"For the needy, not the greedy"
Hi MB!,
One of my favorite Revo features was a truly great Registry search ability. Somewhere along the way that was either removed or at least "not the same", meaning not the great product it once was. That was when I no longer had a use for it.
A proper uninstaller is a must these days and perhaps Revo still fits the bill, but I've been using other software since the loss of the Registry search that once set it apart from the others.
I really miss that feature and haven't found a comparable replacement since,
Richard
Richard. Which version if you could remember, had this "truly great Registry search ability"? I purchased version 3 years ago and never remember seeing this feature.
One beef I have with Revo Uninstaller Pro, is their upgrade tab button to get you the latest revision within the version one purchased, does not work. Click onto https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_pro_full_version_history.html and scroll down. You will be able to get the latest revison, version 3, is 3.2.1 and version 2 is 2.5.9.
Another beef is version 3 ran for a long time, and when one purchased the product, one was granted a lifetime of free upgrades. Unknown to most users, the lifetime implied till the next version. Now it seems Revo (like many companies) have decided that you pay to renew on a yearly basics. The program is still functional, but if you want the improved modifications, a yearly payment is necessary (but not forced down your throat with an automatic renew - as done by some companies, forcing users to find and unclick a button, or one is dinged for a payment).
But I digress. I might get tempted to try out the trial version 4 and decide if the improvements are worth the cost. There is a special upgrade reduced fee for those who purchased version 2 and 3 previously. How long this special will last (could be just a marketing scheme) no one knows. I will make sure to add my comments should I take this path and yield to temptation, Mindblower! 🙂

I also was a bit miffed when I saw the notice for the paid upgrade. I looked into it and found that when the Pro version was introduced they said upgrades were free till the next major version.
Found this information on WayBack Machine ( https://web.archive.org ). It shows that when you clicked on the "OrderNow" tab (at least as far back as May 03 2010) they said:
" Purchase of a License includes free lifetime technical support and free updates, till the next major version! ""
I guess they were fairly forward thinking compared to some other software publishers who included Lifetime Upgrades without exception.
I'm still using a couple of product I bought way back then and still getting free upgrades.
On a less happy note, the licensing of a game product I bought was sold to another business and that business refused to honor previous sales licenses. You could not longer even use the game as it required online confirmation prior to playing. I complained but never heard back.
Hope the above information helps anyone who feels a hard done by in having to pay to upgrade to version 4.
At least you should get a discount because, "Also, every purchase receives special discounts for major upgrades and other products!"
Have a good one.
PS. This is a new account because my old one was not valid for some reason.
Hi MB!
I only remember that it was way back before 64-bit was a glint in daddy's eye. Revo was still completely free of charge. Even if you could find a copy, it would still have the 32-bit limitations and would not "see" the Registry in its entirety, greatly reducing its effectiveness.

I am curious about this account matter. Forum account? DCT account? What's going on with that?
Let me know some specifics and I'll look into it for you.
Happy holidays!!
Richard
Hi everyone, long time no post!
I have Revo Uninstaller Pro ver. 3.1.9 and this did a registry search a couple of weeks ago. In view of your comments, I'm loath to udate it to a later ver. 3x!
Totaly agree with the comments about Version 4.0.
What is a tried and tested (64 bit) alternative for when Revo Uninstaller Pro ver. 3x is no longer supported?
Hi Jayesstee,
I've been using Ashampoo Uninstaller for quite a few years and it works as advertised, but it does not have the Registry search function that we've been talking about.
At this time, it is discounted to $20 (US), there is a free trial period (I think) and you can read all about it here: https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/2003/system-software/uninstaller-8
Hope this helps,
Richard
