I am trying to figure out how I can reduce the number of processes being executed inside my Browsers.

I tried Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla with all the same results. Slow opening of videos on each of the Browsers is the issue I am having.

Any ideas on how I can speed up the Browsers?

Thanks for any support you can provide!

Have a good day and be safe!

Hey ajs,

This issue being present across all browsers tends to suggest that it is maybe more to do with your internet connection than browser processes. Rendering video, and especially HD video, consumes a large amount of bandwidth. I have a series of related questions:

1) Are you connecting via wifi or cable?
2) Are you the only member of your household connecting to the net or are you sharing a connection with family members?
3) Have you tested your internet speed- via a site like Ookla, for example?

Jim, sorry for the late response!

#1 - I would say cable since I am using a Desktop computer that you helped me get back up and running using a SSD that has totally been awesome!
#2 - Yes, I am the only one using the system.
#3 - I just did a speed test using Ookla - here is what the blazing (LOL) speed is:
Download - 6 MPBS and Upload at 0.62 MPBS. My Internet Provider is Centurylink.

I hope this helps!

Have a good day and be safe!

No Problem AJ. I reckon the 6 MBPS is your problem.

First up I would try disabling any and all add-ons (extensions) in the browser while streaming video, and make sure no other programs that might use the internet connection are running.

In other words, try to isolate anything else from using the internet connection while you are video streaming.

Secondly; you could try reducing the quality of the videos. Many video sites, including YouTube, include a cog icon at the bottom of the video display window where you can change the video quality. Quality will usually be set to 720p, try reducing that to 480p.

Essentially though, your internet connection is somewhat on the slow side and therein lies the main problem.

AJS1017. Suggest you visit your IP and see their different package rates. I was upgraded from 10 to 60MPBS and my monthly rate went down. Found this offer strange, but good things do happen. Jim was kind saying 6MPBS is on the low side. Would be interesting to know if you were able to get a higher download from your provider, Mindblower!
