iTunes...where art thou?

About two or so months ago, after opening iTunes and seeing that there was an update available and clicking to allow the install only to get an error, I have since not been able to upgrade to the newest version. In an act of desperation I tried to uninstall everything that was labeled as Apple. I have numerous HDDs, but after scouring all of them thinking I had rid myself of whatever the gremlin was, still no luck.

Once I get back to my home PC (the one with this problem) I will provide those interested with the specific error message that I'm getting, but given what I've listed so far does anyone have any ideas? I googled it a few days ago, followed a few of the recommended 'solutions' but still end up with the same old ending.

Any and all comments/responses are appreciated.

Regards!

Josey,

I'll jump in here and say I am not a fan of apple software, especially on a PC. I actually think they screw it up on purpose!

Anyway, there were a few issues with various versions of iTunes 8. Download the Windows Installer Cleanup[/url:vyxe6xdk] and Ccleaner[/url:vyxe6xdk]. Run windows installer cleanup and select all of the apple programs (bonjour, mobileME, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) and tell the program to do it's thing! Run Ccleaner and do a registry clean.

Download iTunes again, and only install the parts you need (probably only itunes, maybe quicktime).

Ironically enough Dave, that's exactly what I did prior to posting (based on searching around the web for a solution). I'll try it again and report back, but even if it doesn't work I truly do appreciate the reply.

Regards!

Didn't work, still no iTunes. I'll keep digging but I'm not sure what the problem is.

Once again, any and all suggestions/idea/etc are much appreciated.

Regards,

Josey
