Okay David, here goes:
1.) Create a System Restore point before you do anything.
2.) Go to [b:38d2ks6h]Start>Run[/b:38d2ks6h], type [b:38d2ks6h]regedit[/b:38d2ks6h] into the Run dialogue box and then either click [b:38d2ks6h]OK[/b:38d2ks6h] or hit "Enter".
3.) In the Registry Editor window, click on [b:38d2ks6h]Edit[/b:38d2ks6h] and select [b:38d2ks6h]Find[/b:38d2ks6h] (you will see there is also a hotkey combination to access the "Find" feature - [b:38d2ks6h]Ctrl+F[/b:38d2ks6h]).
4.) Type [b:38d2ks6h]jzip[/b:38d2ks6h] into the Find dialogue box and then click on the [b:38d2ks6h]Find Next[/b:38d2ks6h] button.
5.) Each time an instance of "jzip" is found, the search will stop and the registry item will be highlighted in the editor's left pane.
6.) At this stage you can elect to create a backup copy of the registry item - just in case. Go to [url=http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsxp/ht/registrykeysxp.htm:38d2ks6h]THIS PAGE[/url:38d2ks6h] for instructions.
7.) Right click on the registry item and select "Delete".
8.) Now press [b:38d2ks6h]F3[/b:38d2ks6h] and the search will continue.
9.) Repeat steps 6 through to 8 until the search has completed.
10) Restart the computer.
The registry is a very important part of the operating system mate so please proceed with caution.
If the problem persists David, we may need you to download and run HijackThis and post the logfile.

Did as you said and nothing has changed. Sometimes it works and other times it does not.
Most of the time it doesn't.

Entirely up to you mate. Hijack This may reveal a problem, it may not. I would go for it, it's a small download (only 380KB), doesn't require installation and is pretty straightforward.
Download Hijack This [url=http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/:1lif06kx]HERE[/url:1lif06kx] - choose version 2.0.4 [u:1lif06kx]Executable[/u:1lif06kx].
Simply double click on the downloaded executable to run Hijack This. Click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile", then copy and paste the logfile contents here so we can analyze it for you.

Okay David, HiJack This has revealed a fair few orphaned entries and a couple which are definitely iffy.
Run Hijack This again but this time click on the "Do a system scan only" button. In the results window scroll down, identify the following entries and place a checkmark in the adjacent box for each:
O2 - BHO: EpicPlay Games - {56E4076B-A42B-4745-BA35-34DA8AC4C2F2} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: Battlefront.com Toolbar - {64d0ffc8-c37a-48e4-a128-9e38886e4e5a} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: FriendsChecker - {FED6A736-129B-49C7-857E-25FC91E87DB3} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: Battlefront.com Toolbar - {64d0ffc8-c37a-48e4-a128-9e38886e4e5a} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {53F6FCCD-9E22-4d71-86EA-6E43136192AB} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {925DAB62-F9AC-4221-806A-057BFB1014AA} - (no file)

When you have finished selecting the items for removal, click on the [b:3hnpa2ye]Fix Checked[/b:3hnpa2ye] button (bottom left of window). Close Hijack This and restart the machine.
P.S. Hijack This does not report any instance of Anti-Virus software running on your machine - did you disable your AV? - which AV are you using?
