Welcome Ron. Acronis products are good and stable, but comparatively costly.

Know what you mean. I've been using and upgrading since version 7. Still beats anything else I know of, commercial or free, although Macrium Reflect is a pretty good choice in the freeware category.
OK - installed this afternoon, no problems. I like two things off the top. It can run as a standalone w/o other Acronis software, and the user has the option to extract the installer to a different location. The program monitors your drives, but like most other information gathering software, the user must open it to get the current data. I'm not sure if it can be used to backup to one logical drive to another, since the backup I ran defaulted to Acronis TI 2010 to backup in my case. Still, I give it high marks for ease of use and flexibility. YMMV.

YW. In my case, the reason Drive Monitor defaulted to Acronis TI Home 2010 (I use this) is because it integrates itself with that program and Acronis Backup business software. Re-reading the link you provided let me know the drive backup is automatic if there's an imminent problem with your drive. This only works if you let the program run as a service, but that doesn't seem to affect a fast machine at all.
