I'll post some more pictures of my rig later, but in the meantime I'm not sure if my cable management will be quite as neat as this awesome build.

How much do you think is tied up in this build? More than I can afford I'll bet.

4 x SSDs and 3 x GPUs for a start and the CM Cosmos is an ultra tower at around $300.
Must be looking at between $6 or 7k.

Quote from Newegg on the Cosmos:

Im 6 feet and could left the case but for you small guys out there, PLEASE use an extra set of hands when lifting and turning. the UPS guy had trouble getting it out his truck.

No idea but it looks ancient. Looks like it predates printed circuitry, is that an old transformer I'm seeing?

Looks like an old power supply out of an old radio or TV set?

I see what appears to be 2 breakaway connectors and 2 serial ports.

My guess?

Power control module for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile launcher.

What do I win?

If I remember I'll post a pic of my Server 2012R2 rig when I get home... You'll laugh. You'll cry.

You are right Marc is working for the Chinese now, he is gonna launch a missile from his shop!!!! Who would ever have suspected that?
With the two serial ports it has to be related to gaming, just can't figure out why or what it is doing inside a PC.lol.

OK, here it is in all its' gore, I mean glory!

OK, what you're looking at is my storage server!
OS: Windows Server 2012R2
CPU: Intel quad core i5
RAM: 16GB
System drive: 90GB SSD
Storage drive: 5 x 3TB configured into a 25TB storage pool with 15TB usable
External drives:
1. 2TB 2.5 used for "online" backups
2. 5TB 3.5 used for offline backups
3. 3TB 3.5 backup spare drive for storage space

Now, you're probably asking WTH. Well it started as an experiment in crypto currency mining. The wooden rack was designed to hold 4 power supplies, 2 motherboards, and 8 graphics cards across the top. I only ever mounted 2 power supplies, 1 motherboard, and 4 video cards. Running full bore and crunching litecoins I could blow enough heat out of the room to keep the house comfortable!

So the market tanked before I made a fortune and I set it off to the side. Months later the power supply in my server died a horrible death and as I was unplugging power cables and clipping wire ties I said what the heck. I'll just mount everything on that $2 wooden rack and have easy access. Runs like a champ!

So what's with all the hard drives, Dave?

Well I store my movie collection on the server and run plex to view them throughout the house.
I also use Windows Server to image every computer in the house daily. I also have backups in place to copy all important documents from all PC's to dedicated folders on the server.
The 2TB takes daily backups of the super important files stored on the server.
The 5TB is used to take manual backups and is unplugged to prevent electrical damage
Of course, everything on the server is backed up nightly to Crashplan in case the house is swept away Wizard of Oz style.

Heath Robinson would be proud of that Dave, not to mention the extremely efficient cooling system! It's a bit Dr Who from a distance.
The contraption in my pic is an Italian UPS owned by a Sicilian gent who asked me to replace the 80mm fans.

I've seen this PSU configuration twice now and I still scratch my head.
