Yep, Richard is 100% correct. Even dedicated audiophiles can't agree on which is optimum.
Strictly speaking; audio recorded in digital is best suited to a digital system and audio recorded in analog is best suited to an analog system. However, even when mixing and matching, there would be very little difference in the end result... probably nothing discernible to the human ear.
