What would cause the sound to sometimes stop for a second during HD movie playback at a busy/loud point?
for example, during very big and loud explosion, multiple rapid fire gunfire, etc.
I am very pleased with my sound aside from that... 2.1 speakers, great bass,
soundblaster xfi
mid range pciexpress2 video card
I use latest VLC and
Windows was just reinstalled recently with using the soundblaster card driver cd with update check no results.
It is just aggrevating. Help appreciated
Thanks
Hi Doc - This sounds like an issue with the source audio to me rather than anything to do with your system.
How consistent is the problem, does it occur with every single movie or just the odd one here and there?
What is the source of the movies - DVD, downloaded file, streaming?
This issue is typical of audio that's been recorded or encoded with the volume set too high.
Cheers... Jim
Thanks, Jim.
Reading your answer I see that you are absolutely correct.
I don't have any problem with DVD, I have a non-consistent problem mostly with files and sometimes stream.
I do not know near enough to understand that coding thing you said, but I understand enough that at least it is not a problem with my system.
Thank you for that.
Doc
