displayfusion-logoDisplayFusion – Multi-Display Management System

binaryfortress has kindly offered five (5) licenses for this giveaway contest to some lucky DCT readers– see entry details near the end of this post. We most certainly thank them for this generous offer.

My Take on Displayfusion

I have been using DisplayFusion for many years now and I can only say wonderful things about this program. Honestly, there are no “cons” that come immediately to mind. It not only manages your multi-monitor setup to perfection, but gives you many features that you might not otherwise expect in this focused type of software.

Please forgive my forthcoming exuberance… there is no possibility of objectivity in this short review.

Installation

Installation is straight forward with no tricks or gimmicks. There is nothing much to be said about the installation process other than it goes as planned. In the current scheme of things, this is a blessing.

Usage

There are so many features included in this program that I am not sure where to begin. One thing for certain is that I will not be able to begin showing you the many offerings this software provides. I will try, however, to point out a few:

  • You can add buttons to your Windows Title Bars to activate a number of functions with a simple mouse click
  • You can force windows to open on specific monitors of your choosing
  • You can force Child windows to open where Parent windows are currently open
  • You can force the mouse behavior to suit your needs
  • You can choose Hotkeys for multitudes of tasks which are not limited to monitor management tasks. How about switching between sound output devices?
  • You can have Task Bars displayed on single or multiple desktops
  • You can have Desktop Wallpapers set up differently on each monitor
  • You can spread a wallpaper across multiple monitors; dual, triple, it doesn’t matter

And I’m telling you, there are numerous possibilities across the board that I have not even mentioned. The above list is what comes immediately to mind. There is so much more. As I mentioned before, I’ve used this program for years, and I’m still learning about its flexibility. When I need something, it seems to be there. I even found a way to switch between desktop speakers and headphones with a hotkey. How about that…

A Screenshot is Worth a Thousand Words

Here is a screenshot of its settings window, shared here to blow your mind:

Every option in the left panel gives you an enormous number of choices in the right panel. It goes way beyond the scope of this article to demonstrate the full functionality of this fine utility.

Should You Buy It?

I can not truly describe how much I love DisplayFusion; it is simply the best multi-monitor management system out there, in my humble opinion. You can buy it as of today’s writing for a mere $25.00 (US). It is definitely worth the purchase price if you are an owner of a multi-monitor computer system. There is also a free version of DisplayFusion, and you can see the differences in this Comparison Chart.

How about a short video clip to better demonstrate what words cannot?

There is a chance, however, that you can win a free license for this great utility, the Pro Standard Version, by entering our contest. Here’s how…

  1. Over the past few months I’ve noticed that there are fewer and fewer “computer tips” on Daves Computer Tips page and more and more marketing-related giveaways.

I have to say I don’t like that trend. I used to come here frequently for — computer tips. Why not restrict these giveaways and other promotions to the “Daily Giveaway” tab and resume putting helpful computer tips where they below…on your Home page?

      Hi MoreTech,

I have to agree with your analysis– there have been fewer computer tips of late. The reasons have been due to a wide variety of influences over the last six months or so.

We are working hard to find quality information for our readers and it is not always readily available. Please bear with me. Good information and good writers are a difficult combination to come by. However, I am proud of our current list of writers and they do each have their own specialties which may or may not include “computer tips”, as such.

DCT makes every effort to provide at the very least one computer tip per week. Some directly support computers and others are pointed more at Social Media. Others still are aimed at technological advances and how to use them. The list is varied. In any case, we hope they are all informative and useful in some way.

As for the increase in the number of contests of late, it is an effort to provide our readers with the latest and greatest software, and sometimes hardware, currently available– certainly a benefit to our readers.

DCT gains no direct remuneration by offering these contests other than to entice more people to follow our site which is a common goal among all sites on the World Wide Web. Nothing strange there…

      Thank you for your comment,
      Richard

  2. @ Richard,

Fair enough. Thanks for the explanation and not dismissing my comments/opinions.

    1. Although I am not a DCT writer, I do participate in the DCT forum, and there is a world of advice and comments within the forum on just about any PC subject you might be interested in. Call it a tip or call it advice but the info there can be very useful. Daniel.

  3. MoreTech. It’s taken me a few days to muster the courage and reply to your comments. I’m at a cross roads myself, as I’m 50/50 percent on both sides of what you said

“Why not restrict these giveaways and other promotions to the “Daily Giveaway” tab and resume putting helpful computer tips where they below…on your Home page?”

Each time I visit and read those words, I find myself seeing the error in your request. The promotions in the Daily Giveaway as just that, giveaways. Having published writes whose articles help make DCT great, take pride in explaining and showing us how to use a computer product is a very useful tip which belongs right where it is. Hope you’ll be able to see it this way as well, Mindblower!

    1. @ Mindblower, I have read your response multiple times over the past several days. I don’t understand it.

      1. I believe this is what Mindblower is saying: because we always include helpful reviews with our giveaways, they are essentially a tip/guide in their own right. Whereas, if the giveaways were simply tucked away under a separate section with no review or detailed information, that would be a whole lot less helpful. 🙂

        1. Thanks for the interpretation. While I don’t necessarily agree with Mindblower’s perspective, that’s okay. To me, the issue is not a deal-breaker.
