Deleting Unused Bitwarden Logins

I wrote before about trying to remove entries from the Bitwarden list of saved logins. Read here: How To Change A Username Password Bitwarden

But I made a mistake. I didn’t realize you could delete the entries directly. So here is what you do.

Click on the Bitwarden extension icon to see the list of saved usernames and passwords in your vault. Click on one. I will delete the “192.168.0.7” entry because it belongs to my old modem and is no longer needed or valid.

I clicked on it and then clicked on the “red garbage can” icon in the lower right-hand corner. If you don’t want to delete it, click on “Edit” and do your thing.

Then confirm in the next window.

Then you’ll see a green progress bar going across the top. Then it’s done.

Sometimes you can overlook the simplest of things. Thank you John for pointing this out.

  1. I must have a few hundred passwords in there, most of which are for sites I don’t even recognize. Now I’m wondering if I should visit the sites and delete my account before deleting the passwords. That could take a week!

Yes. I’ve done that myself. Sign up for something and not remember when or why. Some sites may deactivate your account automatically if not accessed in a certain period of time. Gmail for example gives you two years. Anyway, good luck.
