Apple’s Back to School Promotion Now Includes iPads

Apple has started their Back to School Promotion.

There is nothing unusual about that. What is new is that it now includes iPads as well as Macs.

Buy a qualifying Mac and get a $100 gift card to use on apps, books, music and movies. Buy a new iPad and get a $50 gift card.

To qualify for the promotion, you must be an employee, school board member or PTA/PTO executive at a K-12 public or private school or a faculty member, staff member, student, or parent of a student of a institution of higher education.

Qualifying Macs include the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro. Only the new iPad (3rd generation) qualifies for this promotion.

There is also the Apple Education Pricing for Macs. The discount varies but I checked the new MacBook Pro with Retina display. The regular price is $2,199 and the ‘education price’ is $1,999. This is in addition to, not instead of, the gift card.
