A Holiday Message

We’re going to take the next week off, unless something newsworthy happens over the holidays, but I wanted to share a few thoughts with you as I look back at this past year…

Thank you!

We work hard each and every day of the year to provide DCT as a free service to our readers. Why? We have no idea! Maybe we’re feeding some inner need to feel wanted? Maybe we’re all just plain nuts?

OK, back to Seriousland, we do it because each of us share the same ideological love of technology and its’ influences, both positive and negative, on our lives. We like to learn. We like to share. We like to interact with those who read our articles. We enjoy the relationships we’ve developed through DCT, but mostly we just enjoy doing what we do and appreciate the time you spend reading our articles along with the trust you put in us when you do!

And with that I offer a sincere thank you to each of you for the support you give our little operation, the staff, and  the newsletter! Without you there would be no DCT!

A more personal note

The last 22 months have been have been a difficult time for me. The details aren’t important, but it has affected me deeply. With that in mind I leave you with the following words of wisdom for the new year…

No matter how bad you believe things are there is someone out there, probably closer than you know, that is much worse off.

Each person who enters your life helps shape you as you walk through life. Why not reach out to old friends and those who have influenced you and let them know? Tell them why they are important to you and what their contributions to your life means.

Help someone. Seriously, go out of your way to really help a stranger. No matter how small the effort seems it will have a much greater affect. See someone in the checkout line having trouble paying? Help pay for their groceries if you can. Help a family pay their heating bill one month. Help someone change a flat. Hold a door or elevator. Help an elderly person do something they’re having difficulty with. It doesn’t matter what, where, or when just help a stranger who has a need larger than yours.

Hold your family close. Spend quality time with them as often as possible. Hug often. Don’t be afraid to tell them you love them.

On behalf of the entire DCT Team, we hope you have the best of Holidays with friends and family in abundance along with health, love, and happiness in the new year!

  6. The Holidays are espeecially hard for some, myself included. I see big things for DCT in 2016. I look forward to the onset of a New Year & goal setting for myself. It is because of DCT that I have learned so much more than I knew before I initially came to this Forum. The people I have encoutered are priceless treasures. Here’s to a great 2016 Dave & everyone else.
